Lepakshi
(Lat.13o,48'N; Long.77o,36'E) is a
small village situated fourteen KMs to east of Hindupur, in the
Anantapur District of Andhra Pradesh. It is famous for its temple
of Veerabhadra, Papanaseshwari (Durga) and the Mural paintings
of Vijayanagar period. The world biggest mural (a ceiling painting)
of Veerabhadra and the world famous Nandi sculpture is existing
in lepakshi.
